Arthur Manoli, MD, received his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. He later earned his medical degree from the New York University Grossman School of Medicine in New York City.
He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Detroit Medical Center through Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Following residency, he pursued fellowship training in adult reconstructive surgery at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, and further specialized in hip preservation surgery through a fellowship at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.
Dr. Manoli has a strong focus on the accurate diagnosis and nonsurgical management of complex hip conditions. He is proficient in ultrasound-guided injections and utilizes cutting-edge, minimally invasive techniques such as computer-assisted “post-less” hip arthroscopy, direct anterior hip replacement, computer-navigated total knee replacement, and robotic-assisted partial knee replacement.
He was drawn to hip preservation because of its unique blend of science and artistry, which involves carefully considering the patient’s medical history, symptoms, physical exam, imaging, and personal goals. Dr. Manoli is deeply committed to patient-centered care and believes in developing treatment plans that are tailored to each individual’s lifestyle and expectations.
His path to orthopedic surgery was inspired by his father, a foot and ankle orthopedic specialist. During medical school, he consistently gravitated toward orthopedics, appreciating the ability to identify and correct the underlying causes of a patient’s condition rather than simply managing symptoms.
Dr. Manoli has shared his research at international conferences and has authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals, along with book chapters and scientific presentations. He also serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Arthroplasty.
He chose Southcoast Health for its unique combination of large health system capabilities and a strong focus on personalized, patient-first care.
When not seeing patients, Dr. Manoli enjoys spending time with his wife and daughters exploring everything New England has to offer.
